Turbo Surging
If you experience turbo surging after installing this actuator, this does not automatically indicate that the actuator or turbocharger is defective or malfunctioning.
Many aftermarket tuners write their calibrations around the response characteristics of the factory actuator. The ITI Billet VGT Actuator utilizes a stronger motor, faster response rates, and more precise vane control than the factory actuator. As a result, some tuning revisions may be required to optimize performance with this upgraded actuator.
While some customers may notice the surging disappears when switching back to an OEM actuator, this is typically caused by the vehicle's calibration rather than a defect in the actuator or turbocharger itself.
DDP Motorsports and Industrial Turbo International have no control over who tuned your vehicle, how the calibration was written, or how the tuning interacts with aftermarket components.

Exhaust Brake Smoke
If you notice a puff of smoke from the exhaust while the exhaust brake is engaged, this does not automatically indicate a problem with the actuator or turbocharger.
This condition is commonly related to tuning, calibration strategy, and exhaust backpressure management rather than a mechanical issue with the actuator or turbocharger itself.
If this condition is present, please contact your tuner for review and possible calibration adjustments.
Warranty Information
This billet VGT actuator for the 6.7L Cummins turbocharger is covered by a one (1) year limited warranty from the original date of purchase.
What Is Covered
This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal operating conditions. If a defect is found during the warranty period, Industrial Turbo International (ITI) will, at its discretion, repair or replace the actuator or defective component.
What Is Not Covered
This limited warranty does not cover damage resulting from:
- Improper installation
- Misuse, abuse, neglect, or accidents
- Over-boost conditions
- Tuning errors or non-OEM calibrations
- Electrical damage caused by incorrect wiring or improper voltage supply
- Corrosion, contamination, water intrusion, or foreign object damage
- Normal wear and tear
- Labor costs associated with removal or reinstallation
- Consequential or incidental damages, including engine or turbocharger damage
- Turbo surging, exhaust brake smoke, drivability concerns, or other issues caused by aftermarket tuning, calibration revisions, non-OEM software, or the turbocharger itself
Warranty Requirements
To be eligible for warranty consideration:
- Proof of purchase is required
- The actuator must be installed by a qualified technician
- The actuator must not be modified, disassembled, or tampered with
- Returned parts must be inspected and approved by ITI or an authorized ITI Master Distributor before warranty approval
Warranty Exclusions Related to Tuning
Turbo surging, exhaust smoke during exhaust brake operation, drivability concerns, or other issues determined to be caused by vehicle tuning, calibration, non-OEM software, or the turbocharger itself are not considered defects in the actuator or turbocharger and are not covered under warranty.
By purchasing and installing this product, you acknowledge and agree that tuning-related concerns may require calibration revisions and do not automatically qualify the actuator or turbocharger for warranty replacement, refund, or return.
Furthermore, concerns determined to originate from the turbocharger, engine, tuning, calibration, or other vehicle components do not qualify the actuator or turbocharger for warranty replacement, refund, or return.
By purchasing this product, you acknowledge and agree that DDP Motorsports and Industrial Turbo International have no control over the tuning installed on your vehicle, who wrote the calibration, or how that calibration interacts with aftermarket components. Any tuning-related concerns should be addressed with the tuning provider responsible for the vehicle's calibration.
Limitations
This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser. ITI's liability is limited solely to the repair or replacement of the actuator. No other warranties, express or implied, are provided.
