AEV’s Colorado Jeep Fuel Tank Skid Plate offers an added level of protection from punctures and other fuel tank related damage while out on the trail. Manufactured from Hot Stamped Boron Steel, this Fuel Tank Skid Plate is both lightweight and incredibly strong.

AEV’s Colorado Jeep Fuel Tank Skid Plate is standard equipment on the ZR2 Bison but is also compatible with most 2015-2022 Colorado Z71 and ZR2 models (excluding crew cab w/ 6.5’ bed). Installation of the AEV Fuel Tank Skid Plate also requires AEV’s Transfer Case Skid Plate. E-coated for maximum corrosion resistance and is proudly made in the USA.

Hot Stamped Boron Steel (HSBS) is an ultra-high strength, press hardened steel and is most commonly used in automotive applications for passenger impact protection because it is lightweight with an extremely high yield strength (approximately 200,000 ksi vs. mild steel at 25,000 ksi). AEV chose this material for the Colorado ZR2 Bison’s skid plate package not just because of its high strength-to-weight ratio but also for its hardness and resistance to gouging.

Please note: This part requires the AEV Transfer Case Skid Plate in order to be installed correctly. This part is NOT compatible with Crew Cab/Long Bed models.
