This is a drop-in VGT turbo for the application in the title. These units use GT's larger redesigned nozzle ring, which allows larger turbines and creates the distinct whistle these chargers are known for — GT describes them as some of the loudest VGT turbos on the market.
SIZE: This listing is the 67/71 turbocharger (naked, no actuator).
The 67/71 is the aggressive combo. GT notes this turbine is aggressive and will make the turbo laggier than smaller units — when you let them flow, you deal with a little lag to make that power. Primarily for street and smiles-per-mile; towing is not recommended but possible with a responsible driver and proper supporting mods. For chasing VGT HP potential over 700.
What's included: Naked turbocharger without an actuator. Pair it with your preferred actuator separately.
These turbos add a noticeable amount of power but in most situations still let you use the truck as a truck. The more extreme you get with turbo size and supporting mods, the shorter service life can be and the laggier it will feel — especially while towing. Bigger does not always mean better.
Tune note: You may need a tune revision. These turbos naturally whistle; internals are not OEM size, so an "aggressive whistle tune" is not needed. Billet actuators actuate faster than OEM — if the turbo smokes white with the exhaust brake on (but not off) when coming to a stop, the VGT is closing too fast and needs a tune revision.
Fitment: 2019–2024 Dodge Ram 6.7L Cummins pickup, as listed in the title.
