This is a drop-in VGT turbo for the application in the title. These units use GT's larger redesigned nozzle ring, which allows larger turbines and creates the distinct whistle these chargers are known for — GT describes them as some of the loudest VGT turbos on the market.
SIZE: This listing is the 63/64 turbocharger (complete with billet actuator).
The 63/64 is a strong option for mild builds that tow heavy and often, where daily driving is the focus. GT calls this their most popular size — a bridge charger for guys that want a little more than the 60mm without losing towing capability. Intended for trucks from stock to around 550 HP.
What's included: Complete turbo with a billet actuator (City Diesel or ITI, depending on stock — same price and performance). These actuators require no learn process and have much stronger motors. If you want a specific brand, note it at checkout.
These turbos add a noticeable amount of power but in most situations still let you use the truck as a truck. The more extreme you get with turbo size and supporting mods, the shorter service life can be and the laggier it will feel — especially while towing. Bigger does not always mean better.
Tune note: You may need a tune revision. These turbos naturally whistle; internals are not OEM size, so an "aggressive whistle tune" is not needed. Billet actuators actuate faster than OEM — if the turbo smokes white with the exhaust brake on (but not off) when coming to a stop, the VGT is closing too fast and needs a tune revision.
Fitment: 2019–2024 Dodge Ram 6.7L Cummins pickup, as listed in the title.
